1Co 8:6 But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.
For many of us, the word “Father” has not yet come to minister to us the full depth of what it means. Our understanding of this word has so much been tampered by our earthly experiences that we fail to understand what it is when scripture declares we have come to the Fatherhood of God in Christ!
Heb 2:11 For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren,
Heb 2:12 Saying, I will declare thy name unto my brethren, in the midst of the church will I sing praise unto thee.
This scripture speaks of Jesus Christ. It also speaks of the kind of relationship we have with Him. He is not ashamed to call us brethren!
Rom 8:29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.
What does this tell of us? Hallelujah!
See what Jesus spoke of you before He first ascended up to Heaven:
Joh 20:17 Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.
We are brethren with Jesus and so we both call the Creator and Possessor of the Heavens and Earth – God Almighty, Father. John 1:12, 13.
Any man born of God today has come to the Fatherhood of God. He has embraced the adoption of sonship as it is available to all in Christ. He calls God Father.
Rom 8:15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.
Rom 8:16 The Spirit himself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
Hallelujah! Why is this reality so exciting? Why is it that we must awaken to the Fatherhood of God?
During Jesus’ earthly walk as the Son of Man, He brought out a certain revelation of God. Throughout the Old Testament, the Jewish people had come to know God in so many different ways. They knew God as the Creator and Possessor of the Heavens and Earth…….they knew Him as Jehovah Jireh; Jehovah Nissi….among many other wonderful names!
However, Jesus brought to them the revelation that God is Father. Abba, Source! This Truth is very much seen throughout the gospel account of John.
John 17:6 “I have manifested your name to the people whom you gave me out of the world. Yours they were, and you gave them to me, and they have kept your word. “
What name? Well the entire book of John is full of it:
This name Jesus manifested was Abba, Father! Boy! To call the creator and possessor of the heavens and earth Father! Wow, what marvelous opportunity! The Jews in Jesus’ day could not take this. They could not understand how this could be true. They wondered…… could this possibly be real?
Child of God, there is no need for you to doubt this truth. Reality is all that is found in Christ. Jesus Christ is the definition of reality! And in Him Beloved it is to the Fatherhood of God you have come to. Hallelujah!
This means we are sourced from Him; we are resourced by Him. That which our supply flows from is Infinite Source Himself. You, Child of God are resourced by wells that never run dry! Hallelujah!
What does this mean to us as citizens of the kingdom?
Child of God, whenever you lift up your hands and call Him Heavenly Father, Let your spirit understand what it means.
You are born of God.
The very life God has is in you.
The very nature He has, you have.
The way which he functions, you also function.
That which He has, he has given to you.
That which He does, you have come to share in it.
Hallelujah! Thank you Father!
Beloved, do not ever think again that you are disadvantaged because you were born in a certain family according to the flesh or because it seems you do not have much “influential people surrounding you”…… do not think like that ever again!
Awaken to the Fatherhood of God!
One primary ministry of the Holy Spirit is to bring us to a knowing of all that has become ours in Christ. I tell you, as you fellowship with Him every day you shall be brought much more to this understanding.
Boy! I call Him Father!
You see the Apostle John was one man who really understood what it meant to be called a son of God; that is to call God Father. He had seen the “son of God” on display countless times in Jesus’ earthly ministry.
He had witnessed with His own eyes water turned into wine; maimed limbs restored; the blind seeing at His touch; the deaf hearing at His Word.
John had seen the storms respond to the masters words; He had seen gravity defied and the law of floatation made a mockery of………He had seen the son of God on display!
1John 1:1 That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life;
Beloved, Behold John’s testimony!
But it gets even better:
1Jo 3:1 Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.
1Jo 3:2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
John was full of wonder and praise…….now I am also Son of God!
What is your response to this revelation? Beloved what is your response to this truth? He is my Father: the source of all comforts, my all sufficiency. In Him I have come to find myself inundated with the ever abundant continuous supply of the fullness of divinity. It is He who ministers to me the abundant supply of the Holy Spirit. Galatians 3:5 Ephesians 5:18
Beloved, it can only be sufficiency for you in all things. You can not lack counsel, direction, ability, zeal, insight, success, honor, greatness……you can not lack any good thing! You are sufficient to live a life completely devoted to the King. You are sufficient to function in your kingdom mandate. You are sufficient to function as priest and king unto God.
Why? It is because you are a child of God. It is because you are a citizen of the Heavenly Kingdom……..because you call God Father! Hallelujah!
Do check out these scriptures: 1 Chronicles 29:11, Psalms 16:5, Songs of Solomon 2:4, Galatians 4:6, Romans8:15
Beloved, do not let anything shackle you and cause you to do live as though you were orphaned. No! Your God and Father lives! The ears of the Father of Light is continually inclined to you; His eyes are locked steadfast on you- the object of his Love! The arms of Boundless love have locked you in an embrace that will last forever……… You have come to be founded Child of God, in the place where His Love lasts forever! Hallelujah!
Phm 1:6 That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus.
Beloved, I trust the integrity of God’s word. As you have come to discover and acknowledged as true this reality, I know it shall serve to display the life of the kingdom at work on your inside.
Now when you lift up them hands and lift up your voice towards Heaven, understand who it is you are calling upon……You call Him Father!
Father, I thank you for who you are to me. I am full of praise and thanks unto you because I have come to know and function in this light: I am resourced by wells that never run dry! Thank you Father. You alone are worthy. I offer up my life a complete devotion to you. I choose to live my life in total dependence on your ever abundant and faithful supply of all things I have need of. Thank you because it is all grace, all ability…….all sufficiency! In the Name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
