We see this perhaps quite often

How often have we seen the beautiful fellowship among brethren marred by the foul stench of discord, fights and contentions?
We see this perhaps quite often…
Bonds of agape submerged under the uninvited crashing waves of pride…the strained music of strife lifting its cacophony of melodies above the harmonious melody of love and fellowship in Christ.

Where do wars and fights come from among you? Do they not come from your desires for pleasure that war in your members?  — James 4:1

Where does the strife come from?
Where does the discord and falling away come from?
Where do the broken bonds come from?

Do they not come from the lusts we harbour in? Do they not come from pride we refuse to yield? — Proverbs 13:10 Only by pride comes contention

When we fall away from the path of agape and stray into the dark territories of envy and selfish ambition…we stir up the fires of discord and ultimately introduce into our fellowship the iniquity of strife.
When we lift up ourselves and interest above all else….above the will of the Father in Christ…above the purpose of the ecclesia, we open up ourselves to be courted, taken and ravaged by the armies of strife…

Who will pay heed to this admonition?
Is there strife and discontent in our midst? Then let us interrupt the reign of pride. Are there wars and constant fightings? Let us submit our all – will, emotion and mind, to the higher authority of Agape.
