Exegesis of Light · James

Doing well vs. Doing Best

To love?…this is not a question the christian ought to debate. It is the clearest revelation communicated.

James 2:8 – If you really fulfill the royal law according to the Scripture, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself,” you do well;

John 13:34 – A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.

The singularly themed expression of the Lords’ fiat…the most ubiquitous command to the new testament church…He says that we love one another!

How then should we love?
How high? How deep? How wide? How long?
To what standard should we lift ourselves unto?

The one says to love as we do ourselves. But in His higher light, we discern the form and substance of a greater standard…He says to love as He loves us! Glory!

The one is stymied by the limitations of our fortitude in longsuffering and patience; the other is eternally limitless in dimensions of expressions. Nothing too high to scale in agape…no stoop too low…no width too large to embrace….no depth too deep to sound….

We see love, and then we see Love!…in Christ!
He has become our standard of love…He has become the how we walk in this heavenly fragrance.

What is this royal law to the new creation today? Let it be the Lords fiat…let us love like He loves!
