1 John

His will. His way…(Pt. 1)

Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. 15 And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him. —1 John 5:14-15

We have a good Father, who loves us so much. He has committed His ear to our voice. When we speak, He hears us. He listens. He speaks back to us and ministers to us, supply. He is faithfulness personified. We have assurance that we can stand on His Word, and never fall! Glory to God!

This is the reason we know, that when we ask Him anything according to His will, He ministers supply. Because He loves us as much as He loves Jesus Christ. Let us remember this… “That the Father Himself loves us”. Let us be bold to bare our hearts in His presence and lift up our petitions before Him without fear or shame.

There is an emphasis here we must consider. He says “…according to His will”. Here, let us remember that the experiences of the fullest privileges of prayer are hinged unto the doorpost of fellowship with the mind, purposes and will of God. We can only function in all boldness, in the presence of our Heavenly Father, as we bask in the light of truths awakened to in the Word of His Grace.

“According to His will” means in synchrony with His revealed Word, Purpose and Vision. It is to be one with God. And function in the mighty matchless name of Jesus Christ!
Indeed, this becomes the essence of fellowship with God; to have the new man in Christ “uniformly mixed up with the mind of God unto amalgamated oneness”.
