Exegesis of Light · Psalms

HIS Word has the sovereignty!

The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times — Psalm 12:6

Let us here, extol the sovereignty of the Word of His Grace. Child of God, let us constantly declare the preeminence of His Word in our lives. Let us confess, in the name of Jesus that His Word has the sovereignty…over every sphere of engagement in our lives. Glory to God!

For we have tasted and we know that the Word of the Lord is true…It is sure! The King does not waver on His words. No! He whom we call Lord does not vacillate in uncertainty, nor will He ever renege on His promises towards us. Has he spoken it? Shall He not do it? Has He not staked His very throne to back every Word of promise uttered to us? Has He not with the FirstBorn given us all things?

Here, we must receive the testimony of the Holy Spirit sang upon the harp of the Psalmist. For the “words of the Lord are pure words”…meaning they have no impurities marring their character or deforming their intent. The Word of the Lord is exactly as He has said it…with no “ands, ifs and buts”! Glory to God! His words are pure…with no shadow of turning…all pure as unveiled in the glorious light of Jesus Christ!

His Words are pure… “as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.” Shall we not turn to the multitudes of testimonies that minister reality to this fact? From the testimonies of the Patriarchs’ Abraham, Isaac and Jacob; to His faithfulness in the hardships of the Prophets Moses, Isaiah, Jeremiah and Ezekiel…down to the Incarnation and the vicarious suffering of Jesus in our stead…we find written in the volumes of the Book, the faithfulness and surety of the word of God! Praise God!

Now Beloved, let us be ever confident to mark His Words as we hear Him speak to us everyday. Let us be ever confident to rest in the finality of His sovereign Word…for now we know, without any iota of doubt that “the words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.”
