1 John · Exegesis of Light

To dwell in Christ….

Now he who keeps His commandments abides in Him, and He in him. And by this we know that He abides in us, by the Spirit whom He has given us. 1 John 3:24

To dwell and abide in Christ is to walk in the light of His revealed Word. It is to pursue, discover and awaken to the pure lights of Truth in Him; and from that moment of revelation, think, talk and function consistent with the truth awakened to. This is the simplicity in our call to fellowship with Deity.

Our entire experience of this heavenly calling shall be very well hinged on the revelation we have awakened to in His Word….it shall depend on the light of Truth that rules and has the mastery and preeminence in our minds, our tongue and our bodies.

To dwell in Christ then is to keep all His Word…to call them His fiat…our commandment. We embrace in obedience because we call Him our Liege Lord and have sworn fealty to Him…on bended knees…touching the light filled blade of the “sword of the spirit”.

Therefore we walk the path of righteousness. We walk in the light of His Grace. We drown ourselves in soundless agape. We bind ourselves in selfless service. We carry in our hearts the unattritionable fire of Hope…we are possesed of His Spirit!

Hallelujah!

This is how we know we are in Him and He in us….because we have the irrefutable presence of the Holy Spirit in us. It is by His power that we walk as we do, in the light of obedience to His revealed Word.

Thank you, Dear Holy Spirit! You are our eternal companion and Helper. You are our dwelling place in Christ. You are the Light that never fades…the fire that never quenches…the pledge of the Father that shall never renege. You are the revealer of Truth, the Usher into halls of revelation, the bringer of awakening.

Glory to your name forever!
