1 John

The promise of life everlasting

Therefore let that abide in you which you heard from the beginning. If what you heard from the beginning abides in you, you also will abide in the Son and in the Father. 25 And this is the promise that He has promised us— even eternal life – 1 John 2:24-25

…even eternal life

It was the man Jesus who promised us “life everlasting” when He walked this plane of life. Indeed, today we reckon that the new creation has received of this life…the new man in Christ has Zoe pulsing and invigorating his entire being. For our reckoning is true; that we are partakers of the divine nature (2 Peter 1:4)…that we are born of God (John 1:12, 13)…and that we presently possess the life of God (1 John 5:12)

This is the light of truth wherein we stand and are deeply anchored by His Grace. This is the reality we express tangibly in myriad themes. Because of Zoe in us, we resist the power of sickness and disease…we trample upon snakes and scorpions; and if we drink any deadly thing…it shall not harm us! Glory to God! We reckon the promise of “eternal life” fulfilled presently. Our present posture however remains expectant still; we bask in the hope of the “temporal manifestation” of this life of God we presently possess.

For it is when the Lord descends that we shall enter fully into that “temporal manifestation” of this life of God we possess today. Wherein our bodies are transformed into befitting homes for our Zoe – filled souls; and then ageing, disease and death shall cease to cause attrition upon our frames…the mortal shall be swallowed up by the immortal…the ravaging powers of time shall be frozen and dispelled with the consuming darkness. Then we shall live forever with the King…we shall reign with Him upon the earth for eternity. Glory to God! 1 Corinthians 15: 35-58. Revelation 22:5. Selah.

Let the Child of Child of God discern this truth and say with the awakened bride “Come. Lord Jesus Come!”
