1 John

knowledge-maturity-perfection [1]

I write to you, fathers,
Because you have known Him who is from the beginning.
I write to you, young men,
Because you have overcome the wicked one.
I write to you, little children,
Because you have known the Father.
14 I have written to you, fathers,
Because you have known Him who is from the beginning.
I have written to you, young men,
Because you are strong, and the word of God abides in you,
And you have overcome the wicked one. [1 John 2:13-14]

I see here unveiled the vital importance of the Word of God in our lives. It is the only agent that brings us to maturity and perfection in Christ. The differences we see among ourselves, in the outward expression of the divine life, is entirely hinged to the depths of the Word of Truth we have awakened to. Selah

So we see the Fathers who have intimate knowledge of the Word of Life….Him who was from the beginning…Jesus Christ! These are the most matured in Christ. These have experienced extensively the fellowship with the Father and the Son in the Holy Spirit; and have been greatly renewed in their minds to think, talk and function consistent with the divine perspective. These are doers of the Word of God…walkers in demonstration of His power and love…bond ambassadors in service to the King…these lay down their lives for the brethren!

Then we see the young men. These are no longer babes. They have come to abide in the Word. They have come to awaken to their endowments in Christ. They know who they are in Christ. And they use the power of the Word to overcome the devil always. They are strong. They are set for exploits….yea for signs and wonders in the Kingdom. These have committed themselves to the sure and faithful word of God; to meditate therein and walk in its pure light…they continue to increase in maturity unto perfection every day!

Then we see the least matured of them all. The children; the babes in Christ. These are new into the divine life. These are not rooted deep into the mysteries of the kingdom. These tend to struggle a lot with sin and sin consciousness. These seem to always ask stuff for themselves of the Father. Their prayer is often self-centered; they are yet to awaken fully to the entire divine agenda! They are yet to taste the “mature word of truth”. Their highest revelation is of the Fatherhood of God; they walk in the realities of His constant supply!
