1 John

We have an Advocate…a Helper [1]

My little children, these things I write to you, that you sin not. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world. [1 John 2:1-2]

“…that you sin not…”

I believe this emphasis enunciates the truth hidden in I John 1:8.
The objective of the ministration of the Word here is to the end that “we do not sin”.
God desires this. God expects this.

Therefore, it is completely off tangent that trajectory that suggests that it is impossible for the new creation to sojourn here on earth without sinning in thought, words or actions. That position is not of God. Herein we see revealed the plainest testimony of the Spirit on the subject: “that you sin not!”

I believe this lofty height is reachable to the new creation today. I believe that it is not far-fetched for the child of God to make it his aim in this present life. Who said perfection with respect to walking in absolute dominion over sin in this life is not attainable? I say, let us re-examine the scriptures on this position.

I believe perfection in this regard is within reach of every child of God.
I believe Papa God has made certain every supply is in place to allow us fulfill this key milestone. It is not beyond us! If it were so, Papa God will be most unfair to ask us to reach it! Selah.

Perfection – with respect to walking in absolute mastery over sin today – is entirely hinged to our growing up to maturity in Christ…to our awakening to righteousness… “that we should not sin!”
