1 John · Exegesis of Light

Our fellowshipping

That which we have seen and heard we declare to you, that you also may have fellowship with us; and truly our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ. And these things we write to you that your joy may be full – 1 John 1:3-4  .

“Fellowshipping with the father and the Son”

I see here intimated the mystery of fellowship between the new creation and the full load of Deity. He says  “truly our fellowship is with the Father and the Son”
Let us meditate on this verse.

May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with you all. [2 Corinthians 13:14]

Notice here “the fellowship of the Holy Spirit.”
Juxtapose this with “truly our fellowship is with the Father and the son”…

And then you will understand, and reckon fulfilled, Jesus’s promise in John 14:23:

Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and WE will come unto him, and make our abode with him. [John 14:23]

This is the mystery of our fellowship with the Holy Spirit: His presence in us brings in the full load of Deity into us. The Father dwells in us because we have the Holy spirit. Jesus dwells in our hearts because we have the Holy Spirit. Selah

Our fellowship truly is with the Father and the Son in the Holy Spirit!

Glory to God!
