The fear of the Lord – Part 2 of 4

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction. [Proverbs 1:7]

I believe that innate within every man is a remnant of light. It is a light that has dimmed significantly within the hearts of Adams progeny especially so with the ravages of times. It was brightest in the First Man…It is exceeding brightest in the Second man. Selah.

For those still living in the shadow of Adam, this light reveals a certain vital truth – that God is! It is interesting to note in history man’s seeming obsession with “religion”. In every civilization…separated by time and space, we can tell that common denominator which is a belief in “a higher Deity” from whom all things are….and the nagging obsession that man in Adam has fallen from the good graces of this supreme being.

This is the historically proven light in man. It is what the Inspired Writ refers to when he said:

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. This man came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all through him might believe. He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light. That was the true Light which gives light to every man coming into the world.10 He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him. [John 1:1-10]

Let us dwell in on verse nine: that was the true light which lights every man that comes into the world! Selah.

Ergo, I know that the man who denies God is denying this very light burning in his heart. The man who says there is no God is refusing to feel the warmth of this flickering flame. These are referred to, in the Inspired Writ, by one name…fools.
