1 Peter

perfected – established – strengthened…..

1 Peter 5:10-11   10 But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you. 11 To Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.

There may be times in our walk of faith when it seems we are buffeted too long by the “thorns in our flesh”…when it seems that the assaults of darkness on the terrain of light has the upper hand…when it seems like we are without hope and on the brink of utter despair.

Some brethren walk the edge of this cliff many more times than others. Some truly know what it means, in times as these, to say: “The Lord is my Strength. I shall not fail. The Lord only is my hope. He shall come through for me. The Lord only is my joy, He sustains me…He is my shield, my glory and the lifter up of my head.” Selah.

It is at such times of seeming impasse with trials, that we should drown ourselves in the hope filled words of this text. For the Psalmist has said…weeping may endure for the night but joy comes in the morning. The bitter cold and suffering of darkness’s intrusion may seem nagging….even long perhaps…almost relentless sometimes….But Child of God, let us lean always, into the Word of His Grace!

Let us draw from the wells of Truth and drink deep. Let us remember He is the God of all Grace….He shall supply all we need to overcome the adversary.

Do not give up!
Do not give in!
Soon…shortly, He shall “make you perfect, establish, strengthen, settle you.”
