Likewise you younger people, submit yourselves to your elders. Yes, all of you be submissive to one another, and be clothed with humility, for “God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble.” 6 Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time. [1 Peter 5:5-6]
Humility is key. It is the cloak we must learn to wear if we are to truly submit one to another. It is the cloak we must learn to make from our personal submission to the sovereign Word of God.
For humility is simply being all that the Word says we are. It is utter submission to the sovereignty of God’s Word as unveiled in the light of the Lord Jesus Christ.
That false notion of humility as the countenance always looking down, the shoulders constantly drooping, and the emanating stench of insecurity, inferiority and self-condemnation is not right. It is not consistent with Christ. We must learn to see true in the Light of the Word.
It is as we humble ourselves….as we utterly submit to His sovereign Word, that we shall see ourselves lifted into the lofty pedestals of Grace to which we have been promised. It is as we yield in humility to the Voice of the Holy Spirit, that we shall see the mighty hand of God exalt us and propel us into the rarified sublime heights of His grander purposes and mysteries unveiled.
Where are the children of the Kingdom of Light?
Let us show ourselves cloaked in the heavenly mantle of humility.
Glory to God!
