1 Peter · Exegesis of Light

He suffered once for all time and for all men!

For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit: [1 Peter 3:18]

My heart always leaps with joy when I ponder on the selfless love displayed on the cross…at the sufferings of the man Jesus for us. Indeed he suffered and died for all men…once for all eternity, He has done what needs to be done to satisfy the wrath of God’s justice and purchase fallen man back to God’s purposes. He did even more…He has brought opportunity for all to come and be vested with the life and nature of God…He has brought life and immortality to light through the Gospel!

It must be emphasized here that the vicarious works of Jesus on behalf of man…His sufferings on the cross is an event that happened once…and will never happen again! We must emphasize His sufferings once for all time and for all men…Selah

We must remember that for Jesus to have become sin for even a moment in time sufficed for His sufferings and eventual death to save all of mankind…within all the framework of time – past, present and future!

Therefore there is no more sacrifice. It is impossible now for Jesus to go back to the cross and suffer again. That will NEVER happen AGAIN!!! Glory to God!

We must constantly announce to the world this truth which brings with it a window of opportunity for all men to be born again. Which window is fast closing…which window when closed cannot be opened again…because the King is seated on the throne of God and will never get off it to suffer for the sins of man again. He has scars that tell His story…He did it once…a little over two thousand years ago…He suffered….Once for all men for all time!
