1 Peter

groom the inner man!

1 Peter 3:3-6 Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel; But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price. For after this manner in the old time the holy women also, who trusted in God, adorned themselves, being in subjection unto their own husbands:Even as Sara obeyed Abraham, calling him lord: whose daughters ye are, as long as ye do well, and are not afraid with any amazement.

For the New Creation, grooming the inner man has all to do with renewing “his soul”.

Our minds must be re-oriented to be postured aright by the Word of His Grace. The dimensions that define the framework of our mind must be overhauled to embrace the Divine definition of reality. Thus the frontiers of our mind must be pushed back and enlarged to “carry eternity”. It is only our fellowship with the Holy Spirit in the Word of His Grace that can accomplish this. Selah

Our will must be submitted and completely yielded to His. We must learn to align our will and desire to His- so that His Will becomes our will. His desire becomes our desires. Our emotions we must learn to reign in. We must learn to master fear and disable it from our system. We must learn to ride the eye of the storms of uncertainty and seeming insecurity.

This is how we become positioned rightly to be of effective service to the cause of the Kingdom and Lordship of Jesus. Selah.

This renewing of our souls is what builds us up in Christ. This is what we must learn to decorate our hidden man with…These are the true precious stones we must use to build our lives. This is true- we must reckon it so.

With what ornaments then, should we adorn ourselves?

What trinkets must we rid ourselves of? Permit me to highlight a few:

1. Fear Disabled
2. Uncertainty trampled
3. Insecurity and selfishness drowned
4. Pride rejected

And we must put on….

1. Virtue
2. Knowledge
3. Agape!
