11 Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;
12 Having your conversation honest among the Gentiles: that, whereas they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which they shall behold, glorify God in the day of visitation. [1 Peter 2:11-12]
We do have a choice in the matter. We are not victims to the onslaught of sin and darkness. We have been made free by the new birth and empowered by the life of God to walk in utter dominion over the influence of sin. We have awakened to His Word that has propelled us into the fullest manifestations of righteousness. We think, talk and function righteousness. We are pure inside out. Selah
We have come to know better having received instruction into His Word. We do have a choice in the matter! If it were not so, this admonition would be most unjust! But thanks be to God! We serve a Just King! Remember, the ‘how to’ walk in constant victory over sin is entirely hinged to the revelation of who we are in Christ! I Corinthians 15:34. Selah. This is how to keep the “lust of the flesh” subdued and the “expressions of the new man” constantly ruling.
The New Creation is no longer a slave to sin and darkness. Therefore the new creation can say no to all that is in the world- the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes and the pride of life. He can say no further to the vanguard of darkness and decree the halt and paralysis of every arm of Lucifer. Selah.
We are victims no more! Let us walk as the conquerors we are!
Let us take advantage of this liberty of the sons of God and stand in the Light!
Let us walk and run into the perfection we see in Christ to the Glory of God! Let us learn to rule with the scepter of righteousness.
