1 Peter

A Holy Nation!

But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, A HOLY NATION, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light [1 Peter 2:9-10]

A Holy Nation!

Central to God’s idea of holiness is the motif that declares separation unto the divine plans and purposes of God. God reckons a vessel holy because it is separated from others and designated a unique role. Such a vessel must then carry itself in a manner befitting its holy purpose…to make itself functionally effective for the holy role it is separated unto. Selah. Child of God, you are member of a holy nation!

This is fact today; testimony to the special role the members of the Body of Christ have been called to play in the grander schemes of the eternal purposes of God. To every generation, in every dispensation of time, the Spirit of God echoes this vital truth. Our response ought to be one that is tied with this divine fiat.

Child of God, we are separated unto the divine agenda in Jesus Christ. We have become His vessels of honor. We are truly members of his flesh and of His bones…Holy in the sight of God because of our special location in Christ. Holy because of the high calling that has separated us to fulfill the mandate of the King of Kings.

See, how truly lifting it is to walk constantly nurturing these thoughts. See how truly liberating it is to awaken to and embrace this divine fiat. It tells now on how we think, talk and function. It tells our response to the myriad temptations of darkness…this is why we do not succumb to the wiles of darkness…this is why we triumph in the power of the risen Lord.

We constantly bask in this revelation of His Word which inscribes upon our hearts the light filled words: Holiness unto the Lord!

Selah
