1 Peter

Only in CHRIST!

For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away: [1 Peter 1:24]

How evanescent the glory of man is apart from the higher light of Christ!? See for yourself. Search the annals of history. Turn the dusty and crimson stained pages of man’s reckonings of time in this sojourn and you will see…No matter how high Adam touches the sky…his borrowed wings of flight shall be scorched and he shall return tumbling to the dust from which he launched.

No matter how glorious it seems his accomplishments, they are subject to the attrition powers of time…they shall decay because of the power of Death. No matter how great Adam’s accomplishments, they shall slip into oblivion…their names shall not be remembered as they ought to…their feats shall fade into nothingness. Selah.

Such is the fate of natural man. Such is the story of Adam. It is the Word of God that describes this outlook…“For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away:”

All withers away.
The theme song is a dirge.
Death reigns in all the affairs of fallen Adam.

It is only in Christ that “life and immortality has been brought to light”! It is only in Christ that a man’s transient life on this plane…and His accomplishments can take on eternal perspectives. It is only in Christ that our deeds can echo their salutations for all eternity. Only in Christ!

Outside HIM, all that remains testifies of vanity and the fleeting shadow which is snuffed away so quickly…dying out like a whisper never fully uttered…never really heard and understood…

“For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away.”
