1 Peter · Exegesis of Light

walk this earthly sojourn in reverence to the Father

1  Peter 1:17-19:
17 And if ye call on the Father, who without respect of persons judgeth according to every man’s work, pass the time of your sojourning here in fear:
18 Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;
19 But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:

The call to walk this earthly sojourn in reverence to God is hinged on the doorpost of “revelation into how we came to be”. Selah.

I believe that the child of God who has understanding into the mysteries of Jesus’s death, burial and resurrection is positioned rightly to walk this sojourn in true mastery over its adversaries and in the most pleasing manner to the Father.

For we were not bought with “corruptible things”…we were not redeemed from the vain conducts of tradition by worthless things…No! We were redeemed by the precious blood of Jesus! Therefore we must work worthy of the value placed on us by the blood of Jesus! We must walk this current sojourn in all reverence to Him whom we call Father…to Him whom we call Lord.

The discipline is to constantly walk in the reminder of our high calling in Christ. The distractions and allure of this world abounds, yet in the midst of it all, we must keep our heads above the waters of deception…we must fix our eyes on Him. Our thoughts, words and actions are not void of context. We will give account on them to the Judge of the whole earth. Thus we are responsible for our every expressions in this life. We are not victims…Justice does not hold victims accountable. We stand as stewards of His Grace today! Selah

May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be sufficient to you always; that you may abound in every good work…pleasing to His name. May the reality of this high calling constantly remain before you…propelling you to think, talk, and function consistent with the Father’s desire…

Selah
