1 Peter · Exegesis of Light

…Joy unspeakable and full of Glory…

Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory: [I Peter 1:8]

This is the theme song of our generation. We belong to that body of Christ that is connected into the reality of the Lordship and Kingdom of Jesus…not through the aid of the senses but entirely by the reckoning of faith! Ours is the “anti-Thomas” generation who have believed the Word…having not seen Him with our optical eyes yet have believed strongly unto the acknowledgement of all the realities consistent with His person, throne and Grace!

Ours is the generation that has believed into His name through faith and from that fountain head of reality, we stand in the heavenly showers of His Grace today! Selah. We may not have seen Him with our physical eyes but indeed we have seen Him and touched Him and fellowshipped with Him in the Word! This is our testimony! We have seen Him as it were through the veil…and O how we look forward to seeing Him face to face!

Faith is our reality, it is therein we were born and wherein we live and move and have our being. It is faith that causes us to greatly rejoice today with joy unspeakable and full of Glory! For we reckon the reality of His person and swell our hearts with joy at our union with Him. Glory to God!

O yes! It is joy of a divine provenance seeing it cannot be smothered by the vicissitudes of this life; it cannot be made silent by the treachery of this present darkness…it cannot be held hostage by the flagrant incursions of darkness on the terrain of light…it is joy divine! Joy unspeakable! Too full of the deep Grace of our Lord…most poignant in the communication of the divine mirth and assurance of peace. His Joy garrisons our hearts always! It is full of Glory…His Glory! Praise God!

And so let us continue on this path…”yet believing we rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of Glory!”

Selah.
