That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ: [1 Peter 1:7]
We must reckon this lesson: we should not be afraid to have our faith put to the test. We should not be uncomfortable to have what we know to be certainly true tested. For see this admonition, the fiery furnace reveals even brighter the gold hid underneath. Ours is not a trinket with a veneer of gold. No! Ours is an outer vessel of clay with pure gold at the very core! Selah. When the fire comes, the clay exterior is removed to reveal the shining Gold…yes, in all things, we are more than conquerors! Selah!
Let fear be far removed from our hearts. Let us rest in the sure light of the Divine Word. For therein…in this Light, we see truly as we ought to. Adversity comes, not to make spoil of us, no! Far from it! Adversity will come to bring opportunity to the child of God to show forth the brightness of God’s wisdom and the exceeding greatness of God’s power!
This is the right perspective we must see and embrace and walk in. This is truth, to which when we awaken, disables fear and uncertainty from us…that we may stand free…at liberty in the light that Jesus has made us free in! Glory to God!
And hear the note to which he tells our fortitude in adversity be tuned to…the “parousia” of our Lord and King! Selah!
