1 Peter

strangers to an even stranger world

I Peter 1:1 (KJV) – Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the STRANGERS scattered throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia  [emphasis mine]

How apt a description. For strangers we are indeed. Those of us who have awakened to and confessed the Lordship of Jesus Christ. Those of us who have embraced the tutelage of the Holy Spirit; we have answered a lofty call, we find our identity in His Light…we think, talk and function different. We are strangers to an even stranger world.

Such is the coat of many colors we must wear in this world today. We are in the world but we are definitely not of the world. We are in the same geographical space with the world but we are truly lifted and seated together with the FirstBorn in Heaven. We may face the same needs and storms like the world but we know how to answer with the words “peace be still!”…we know how to connect into the infinite supply of the Father.

We may suffer fears and uncertainty and despair sometimes as much as the world does…But Yea in all these things we are more than conquerors! We are a constant wonder to the uninitiated world. We triumph always! We speak the heavenly language that commands the attention of Heaven. Our manners, thoughts and dispositions are truly divine for our nativity is of Heaven – that glorious kingdom of Light! We are light with joy always having come to a knowing of the eternal mystery…Christ in us! The world wonders at us! We bask in the fragrance of truth. We know!!!

We wear the colors of strangers indeed! We do not belong to this world’s systems. Our minds are not framed by this world’s influences. We carry in our hearts and minds the eternal light and life of God…We think divine! Act heavenly! Speak Wisdom!

Strangers! Indeed! Heirs to the worlds!
