Withal praying also for us, that God would open unto us a door of utterance, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in bonds: [Colossians 4:3]
Let us highlight here how key it is that out feet be continually “shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace”. The harvest truly is plenty…we are in need of labourers to work its fields…children of God to attend the work with tireless zeal. I believe this should be prayer we lift up continually in our homes and local churches; I believe that each of us must learn to do the work of an evangelist and be zealous for the “gathering – in of the Elect”.
Even more pressing is the call to prayer; we must always lift up in prayer them who minister the gospel of grace to the vast throngs in darkness. These are our evangelists and missionaries today. They have bound themselves to the Kings service and face the constant onslaught of darkness. The adversary wishes to sap out their strength and consume their zeal with disappointments and failure. He seeks to turn their attention from the plentitude of the harvest and shut their mouth from uttering the divine counsels of YHWH.
Our High Priest will not stand for this. He calls us to prayer. We must minister strength and wisdom and zeal to these servants of the kingdom with words inspired of the Holy Spirit…audible in tongues of fire; an esoteric language understood by them whose hearts have awakened to the ministry of the Helper. We must pray for these brethren always.
That they will have opportunity a-plenty to minister to our world the mysteries of the kingdom and Lordship of Jesus. That they will be ready and not miss the open doors of utterances when they come! That they will be bold and full of the anointing to communicate all of the riches of the glory of Grace as it is found in the Kingdom and Lordship of Jesus!
O that they will tell of the risen Lord as they ought to!
