Colossians

Not Under Law!

Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;
[Colossians 2:14]

I hear too many Christians talk about the covenant God had with Moses and the Jews and the laws and ordinances that flow from that covenant. I see too many misunderstand that dispensation and try to juxtapose it wrongly with the covenant between Jesus as the last Adam and Papa God. I believe we will make time soon to delve into the depths of these realities.
But for now let us say these things.
No child of God today is under the Mosaic Law…with its plenitude of ordinances.
The Gentile was never under the Mosaic Law.

Today, for the new creation, God’s standards of righteousness is loftier compared to the Mosaic Law.
For example when God says in the Mosaic Law, love your neighbor as yourself; He tells the new creation man love one another as I have loved you! Where He tells the man under the law…an eye for an eye…or issue a letter of divorce; He tells the new creation man to display love that bears all things…believes all things…endures all things….love that never fails…that always conquers! Selah

We must recognise that He nailed it to His cross….He fulfilled all its tenets and then disannulled it! He set the Jew free from the actual mosaic covenant and put eternity between the gentile and the shadow of the Mosaic Law. And He gave us something better in its stead as evidenced from a careful study into the seventh chapter of the book of Hebrews.

Now Romans 8:3, 4 is thundered forth! Glory to God! We are of the stock energized not by the law of a carnal commandment but by the power of an endless life. Hebrews 7:16. It is Grace that truly furnishes a man with endowment to fulfill all the righteousness of God! Let us focus on a full study of Grace and all the realities it unveils.

Grace always brings ability to walk consistent with that which it unveils.

Grace has its works….they are called works of Faith and they are produced from the root of Grace! Selah

The “how to” please the Father today lies entirely in appropriating the Word of His Grace through faith…let us reckon that which has been nailed to His cross and done away with and from Calvary let us plunge into the depths of Grace through faith; seeing we have nothing contrary to us anymore.

Glory to God!

The divine perspective on these things must be clearly seen and embraced by every child of God.
