20 And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.
21 And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled
22 In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight:
1. To reconcile all things…by Him; even his blood shed on the cross!
To reconcile all things…whether they be things on earth or things in heaven! Selah
This is testimony we must declare again and again! The blood of Jesus shed on Calvary has sufficed to reconcile Adam back to the plans and purposes of God. Today, the sinner is not at the brunt of God’s wrath. Far from it. Today, the sinner is at the mercy of God’s love and grace…which are infinite in dimensions. For until this dispensation of Grace ends, Heaven has declared a fiat of peace with the earth.
This is the foundation from which all our evangelism to the world ought to launch from. This truth is testimony to the man in Adam of how great the love of God is for him in Jesus Christ! The church must ride on the tidal crests of Grace today and bring the multitudes into the Light of Christ.
The blood sufficed to reconcile all things….even things in Heaven. This suggests a mystery….Adam’s sin touched Heaven and tainted it with iniquity. Jesus’s blood cleansed all…even the taint o f Adam’s transgressions in the heavens. Glory to God! Selah
2. Verses 21 and 22 resound again the power of the sacrifice of Jesus.
Feast your eyes on the cross, see his sufferings for you and awaken to the reality of what it purchased for you to enjoy now.
For today, the new creation stands holy and “unblameable and unreproveable” in His sight! For “… in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.” Ephesians 2:13
Glory to Jesus!
